Counterpoint Records has now been in existence for 10
years. The musical landscape has changed more
dramatically in the last decade than at any other time
since the invention of the phonographic record. When the
label was launched in the Winter of 1995 the internet
was still in it?s infancy as far as the music world was
concerned. There were no cdrs, mp3, or free music
downloads. So as we look ahead to the next 10 years, our
mission remains the same, regardless of the format you
might use to listen on: to offer you, with extreme
dedication, the finest underground jazz, soul and
outernational sounds..
And to celebrate our 10th birthday we invited some of
our favourite musical mavericks to dig into the
Counterpoint archive for a ?Version Excursion? of
reworks, re-edits and remixes. Some of these tracks have
previously appeared on limited edition 12? singles,
others are exclusive to this album. All of them, you
will surely agree on checking the content of our
selection, are vital nutrients for your heart, body &
soul!
